Two Trees Drive

Not long after moving to northwest Montana, I was out just driving around by myself… just checking out the area in more detail. It was a snowy, cold day… as is the typical Montana winter day. Not surprised, are you? Finally, I was returning home, not in any huge hurry. While driving north, on a back country road, out of the corner of my eye, I could have swore I saw a sign that said “Two Trees” on it. It was befuddling to me. “My mind must have been playing tricks on me”, I thought. Quickly, I found a place to turn around and drove slowly back past the drive way. The road wasn’t busy, so there wasn’t any rush. Couldn’t see a house or anything. Just a driveway going seemingly no where.

Well… I just happened to have my camera… and guess what?

Two Trees drive

More interestingly, there isn’t a field with two trees in it. Nothing indicating why someone would have named their driveway by this name. I still haven’t gained enough courage to go down the drive, even though there isn’t a no trespassing sign. Time will tell…

Two Trees of Lake McDonald

Two Trees

While on a family outing to Glacier National Park, my wife and I spotted these two trees at the same moment. She knows I’m constantly looking for settings where two trees are sitting inconspicuously together. Of course I had to stop and get the photo. The trees are close to the south end of Lake McDonald, West side of Glacier NP. It was a beautiful, but cold day.

The House of Joseph, a Tree of Stone

Tree of Stone

My wife and I took these pictures while visiting the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument of Colorado back in January 2006. Many of these huge fossilized trees are scattered all over the park. Many of them are still buried and haven’t been seen for a few thousand years. Sadly, it reminds me of what became of the House of Joseph, but the Prophet Ezekiel gives them hope in this regard:

“And I will give them one heart, and put a new spirit within them And I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh…” - Ezekiel 11:19 Also see: Ezekiek 36:26.

Tree of Stone

Imagine fresh stems of growth popping out the top of that tree of stone, and you’ll get an idea of the miracle already happening with the House of Joseph right now.

Two Trees of Whitefish Lake

Two Trees

I took this picture of two trees along the shore of Whitefish Lake, Montana. It was a cold, but beautiful Montana lunch break.
